Time for a shave

The front bumper wasn’t the cheapest, but it’s in damn good condition and sets the front off nicely. It’s kind of turning into a Mk2.5 as the side rubbing strips “fell” off the other night – once I gave them a bit of assistance. The holes in the front/rear wings have been filled in and the mounting lugs on the door skin ground down, so they’re all getting a dab…

One step forwards

Well, I finally got the front end re-assembled tonight  but the bumper’s going to have to come off again for some “adjustment” – it seems like one of the bumper irons I got is slightly bent, as the whole bumper is slightly skewiff and tight up against the bodywork on one side. Never mind, I think it looks alright for now  OK, so the indicators are held in with cable ties, but…

Rusty bowls

Rather annoyingly, I’m getting home from work too late at the moment to start cutting up bits of metal to practice with the welding … especially as the garage shares a wall with next door’s lounge  To not lose momentum, last night I started to take apart the front end of the car to gauge how much work was needed here.
