Time doesn’t half fly when you get distracted … all of a sudden it’s “summer” and time for the local steam fair.  As usual, an incredibly diverse range of vehicles on display

Saturday’s weather was variable to say the least, but it held off raining all day. Sadly Isabella didn’t get to do the parade round the arena as she was on her way back from that London. Never mind we thought, it’ll be fine tomorrow…

There was a teensy bit of rain between midnight and, well, forever …

In the middle at the far distance, where you can see that huddle of fluorescent jackets – that’s the gate to the road. Behind me there’s a slope down to the bottom of the field. My car’s halfway down the slope.  Unsurprisingly, the second day of the show ended up being abandoned.

It wasn’t all bad though. Issy and I got our two minutes and thirty seconds of fame, live on the radio before the one o’clock news. I got asked about the fair and the Capri, whilst Issy told the whole of Lancashire how yummy her donuts had been. So she still ended up with a cool story for school on Monday

First time in eight years it’s needed a tow…

We’ll be back next year
