The electric fan hasn’t come out of hibernation very happily – it’s been making some strange graunchy noises and generally been rather loud. Probably dried up or knackered bearings or some such, but thankfully the availability of cheap Chinese fans has come on in leaps and bounds since I last looked around eight years ago. Nowadays, just twenty two quid delivered gets you a 12″ 120W fan  I hooked it up to the defibrillator to see which way the power wanted connecting, so that it’s a blower rather than a sucker…

Not much to report, other than it goes round, it’s really quiet, it’s got soft start (rather than all or nothing) and seems to be good value

freddy686868: That’s what bex has on her cappa they are cheap as chips and are brilliant. We have it running off a temp sensor in the rad too it is much better than the old viscous fan.
